Bate and switch.

I and a neighbor had the same problem with the actual cost was almost $1000 more than the quote. As a senior citizen it striped my meager savings If you check the BBB they are out of business.

Long-distance move from Florida to Arizona

Lots of damage.

I am not disputing the charges, but the damage to the furniture. I paid extra to have Professional Moving Solutions pack certain items and paid for the supplies. The Table, Hutch and chairs have scrapped paint and gouges. The beds won't liine up properly to reassemble them correctly. The screws and bolts to reassemble the table and beds were lost. The dining chairs were only covered with black trash bages for protection. A love seat has the arm bent and out of alignment.

Long-distance move from Florida to Georgia

I will use again.

Showed up on time. Two of the most pleasant gentlemen moved my mother's things to her new home. It was almost a hundred degrees and never once did I hear a complaint. Very professional and speedy. These guys never took a break and moved with speed. The move cost exactly what they quoted me. They will always be my first choice in movers and will recommend them to anyone!

Long-distance move from Maryland to Alabama

Horrible experience.

I tried to move my car and apartment with this company. Horrible.Firstly, they don't follow the contract:Arrived late for 3 hours for apartment moving and increased the price for the same amount of items listed on the contract. The first thing they arrived is to complain that I got too many items and ask for more money. But in fact their representative did the estimate for me and guaranteed that 10 large boxes (5 ct for each) should be sufficient. Actually it did. But they used 13 medium boxes (3ct) instead of 10 large boxes (which is written in contract) with increased price in moving. When I showed them contract and tried to connect with the office person: Mary, they refused to communicate and insisted for more money. The same thing happened to delivery. On the contract, the stair fee has been included. But when they arrived, they asked for stair fee and long carrier fee and threatened not to deliver my stuff if I didn't pay it. I doubt if this fee should exist or they just wanted to "steal" every penny I have as the driver, his manager and Mary gave me different prices. As I insisted not paying anything which had been mentioned in the contract, they then asked for higher long carrier fee. Finally I paid additional "long carrier fee" after one and half hours. Secondly, the legal entity of this company is confusing. The company I have contracts with is Professional Movers Group in Maryland who claimed they are not broker. But when they said they also have car moving business, they didn't mention they are broker. Thirdly, they are hard to communicate and have bad customer service. For car moving, This Company missed scheduled pickup date. I contacted them through the emails and phone calls and wanted to have a time frame so that I could plan the car rental time. But they only replied an email after 1 week, saying they need another 10 business days. But they still refused to give you any time frame. Afterwards, they barely picked up my calls or reply my emails but saying you could call as many times as you want. Finally, after I contacted the bank to dispute the car pick up, they called me with no notice and said the car would be picked up next day. And they just gave you the time and driver number and disappeared. You couldn't change the time and had to contact the driver yourself as they gave the driver the wrong pick up address. For apartment moving, they didn't deliver my stuff at my scheduled date and claimed they had 45 days' time frame in law. They finally contacted me on Sunday and said they would deliver next day without notice. When I mentioned the leasing office is not open on Sunday and I couldn't schedule the move in date with them, they said you could make it happen or pay 150/day for late delivery.

Scammers.

I was put in touch with Professional Moving Solutions through Movers.com.  I was moving approximately one mile to my new home with a two bedroom house.  Jason emailed me a quote of $324.00 (not bad right).  They were the lowest quote so I went with them.  Shame on me for not checking the reviews, it wont happen again.  Several times I was told by Jason to “read the contract.”  Interpretation….bend over cause this is going to hurt.  So the movers arrive late.  The foreman demands that I quickly sign several forms before they will even get started.  Come to find out if the customer doesn’t sign these forms the workers don’t get paid.  After being pressured to sign the forms I get the actual price of the move after I get hammered with all the packing material that I had to buy.  Seriously I had to buy their material before that would load my stuff.  ($662.85 was my total charges).  Double the original quote. Once they load all of your stuff with their expert packing job…that last part was a joke, they hold your stuff hostage refusing to unload it at the new destination until they receive their payment in full.  I go get a cashiers check for $573.85 and pay them so they will get back to work.    So I figured sense I just purchased $160.00 in packing material and the EXPERT PACKERS carefully wrapped my furniture my stuff would not get broke right? WRONG!  The damaged the floor of my old house and the door frames.  They damaged my dresser, night stand, and the walls to my new house.  I leave to go back to the old house to get another load (that they didn’t take).  While I’m gone the movers hustle my wife to sign the contract before I can even inspect the furniture for damages.  They are gone when I return home to find the damages.   So I file a claim for reimbursement in October.  You are instructed not to call because it will delay your claim.  Three months go by….nothing.  I email them ….nothing.  I call…refuse to call me back ..again nothing.  My wife contacts the Better Business Bureau.  Now we get a call that they had lost my claim but suddenly found it and are feverishly working to let me know what they are going to do.  Well now it’s February and I still have not got an email, letter or the common courtesy of a reach around.   If you are considering them DON’T.          .

Dishonest and don't care.

I was not advised by the sales rep that there would be a charge for wrapping my beds and furniture. He asked me on the phone if I was good on packing supplies and I said yes because I didn't need boxes or bubble wrap or packing tape or anything that you normally associate with packing supplies. He did not inform me that it was required that furniture and beds be wrapped and that if I didn't do it there would be a charge. If he had, I would have done that. Instead, the movers show up and tell me that I will need to pay $440 more for my items to be wrapped. He told me the movers would have all the necessary padding and tools and everything needed and it was all included in the price he quoted me. Not only did I have to pay this extra $440, but the movers didn't have any tools, so they were borrowing my tools to work on the furniture. The owner called the movers about 3 minutes after my quoted time was up and demanded I pay more money for them to continue working. That was very unprofessional. One of the movers was on his phone the majority of the time. I had to ask the main mover to have the guy get off his phone. Their "customer service" had little to say and did nothing about this terrible experience. They are content to keep your money and don't worry about future business or referrals.

LIARS! and Scammers!!

Although I am guilty of not checking the reviews for this company what they did to me is dispicible! I was charged for four hours and only got three hours of their time!  They were late and I could smell alcohol on them when they arrived at my house to move me.  The first thing the lead guy (Jose?) did when they got there was do a walk through and then he proceeded to tell me that the washer was $100 and the dryer was $100 dollars extra!  That my couch and love seat HAD to be shrink wrapped and that would be an extra $80 a piece!! I told him I was never told that and that I did not have the money! He spent the next twenty minutes chatting on the phone and came back and said ok I was authorized to waive the fee for the washer and dryer but the sofas MUST be shrink wrapped!  I said listen you can't come in here an hour late and start bullying me into paying fees that I was never told about!! I told him if that's the case you can leave and I will get a refund! He said um we will charge your card $550 for cancelling!! At this point I am in tears!  He gets back on the phone and after another 20 minutes he comes back and says ok we can waive the fee for the furniture but you have to sign a waiver so I did!  They knew they only had 3 hours and purposeley moved as slowly as they could burning up more than half that time loading a washer, dryer, 2 dressers 2 tables and about 40 boxes and I was loading right along with them! I am a 51 year old female and live in an area where I really only know the people I work with because I just moved here from New York.  They slowly got the furniture into my new place didn't hook up the washer or dryer and broke the closet door where those appliances sit.  We then drive 2 blocks to my storage unit to off load the boxes and by this time there is only about 20 minutes left, so the lead guy tells the other guy to off load the boxes (which most were too heavy for me to lift) and stack them against the wall outside the storage unit while he sat on his fat a** in the truck and said to me while I was running boxes into the unit uh I need you to sign this.  I said you're leaving aren't you?  He lied and said yea I just got called by the office (i'ts 20 to 9 now) and they insisted I leave, they are putting me in a bad position!! I said so you are going to leave a 51 year old woman here alone to take all these boxes that I can barely lift into this unit by myself?! You guys are awesome!! he said yes, if I had known he wouldn't have been paid if I didn't sign you better bet your sweet a** I NEVER would have signed that paperwork!! I was there for another 2 hours putting my belongings into that unit and I was terrified being there alone!! I have moved so many times in my life that I have lost count, this is by far the WORST experience I have ever had!  They are lazy, slow, liars and scam artists!! NEVER, NEVER use this company!! I wonder if they would even care if their mothers were treated the way I was by them!! I doubt it because people like this have no morals and no sense of decency! All I can say is KARMA!!  Oh and as a footnote I tried to attach a photo but this site won't let me says its over 2MB when it IS 2MB! :(.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Additional charges.

To begin with, the amount that I was quoted (the binding estimate) was inaccurate. When I tried to call/e-mail them about the difference no one responded. I went along with it thinking that the cubic feet probably ended up more as I underestimated the number of boxes that I had but no one would confirm that. The guys who picked up were super nice and did a great job. However, when it came time for the delivery, the proverbial poo hit the fan. The driver was unable to get his truck on my street so had to rent another truck to bring my things. That I had to pay for. This is a moving company. How did they not know that in the beginning? When he got to my house, I had purchased a cashier's check for my final payment (we used a bank money order for the first payment). The driver not only would not accept the cashier's check but he started yelling at me about it. No explanation about why it had to be a "postal money order". I had to go to the bank to cash the cashier's check and he told me he was going to charge me an extra $100 for making him wait. Fat chance that was going to happen. Then he actually argued with me about where to place my furniture. In the end, my quote went from $1,900.00 to an actual price of $2,652.00 I will never use this company again and would never recommend them.    .

Long-distance move from Michigan to Florida

Would not return deposit.

I had agreed for them to pick up a car in Michigan and deliver it to Florida.  The deal on the car fell apart and they refused to return my $200 deposit.  Yes, I did sign a contract, BUT THEY NEVER DID A THING.  A reputable company would have understood and returned the deposit for hopes of future business, but not them.  DO NOT USE THEM.  There are MANY car haulers out there who emphasis not to pay a dime up front, and now I understand why.  Find a reputable company that does not require a deposit and you will have a much better experience than dealing with these money [EDIT] hounds.

Long-distance move from Florida to Washington DC

Happy in DC.

This was my first Interstate move so naturally I was nervous. I spoke to A LOT of moving companies the more I researched the more dissalussioned I became particularly with the movers that use scare tactics (beware of this..etc) to get my business.
My biggest objective was to stay within my budget..I could not afford last minute surprises, and "unexpected" changes in price.
When I called Professional Moving Solutions I spoke to Jennifer, it didn't take me long to know I found my moving company. Jennifer was wonderful, she took the time to listen to my needs and understand what my concerns were. She was both attentive and extremely responsive not just that day but throughout the entire move. Even threw the hiccups Jennifer and Joe were great they took care of the issues that arose quickly and with the highest level of integrity, I am very pleased and would definitely recommend their company.
